This is one of the song ideas I’m currently working on turning into a full-fledged production/recording. It’s called “Almonds and Honey” and it’s about feeling warm, at home, and nourished.

I’ve posted about Names before, and they just came out with a new record called He Downright Up And Left Us. I think this is their most unified effort yet. I’m really loving the subtle beauty of the vocals on this one, as well as the acoustic guitar melodies. The guitar in this song is very much my cup of tea… just gorgeous.

I am really loving orbit over luna’s latest EP, Hiroshima/Miyajima, which is the second in a series of works inspired by his travels to Japan. The way he blends subtle ambient textures with acoustic instruments and traditional Japanese percussion/rhythm is really unique and beautiful. It reminds me a bit of what I tried to achieve on my favorite track from my own latest album.

Finally, another new video sketch for ya! This one is the product of a weekend spent in my friends’ empty house in Gainesville. Like my experience of the past few days, this tune is a bit dreamy with a steady groove and plenty of unstructured self-expression.
The friend I’m staying with is a filmmaker so I felt a little inspired to try out some fancier shooting & editing techniques. ;-)
